The College of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Cal State San Bernardino hosted its 2019 Honors and Awards Ceremony on June 10 at the Santos Manuel Student Union Events Center.
 
The evening opened with remarks by Rafik Mohamed, dean of the college, followed by awards from each department. Nearly 50 honors or scholarships were presented, many with multiple recipients.
 
During the ceremony, Alana Muller, psychological science major, was recognized as the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences Outstanding Graduate Student, and Melody Robinson, psychology major, was recognized as the Outstanding Undergraduate Student. Both students will be honored at the college’s commencement ceremony on June 15 at 8 a.m. at Toyota Arena in Ontario.
 
In addition to various scholarships and other awards, the college also had a number of departmental honors:
 

  • Department of Sociology: 11 honors
  • Department of Anthropology: 2 honors
  • Department of Criminal Justice: 24 honors
  • School of Social Work: 7 BSW honors; 13 MSW honors
  • Department of Economics: 8 honors
  • Department of Geography and Environmental Studies: 2 honors
  • Department of Psychology: 23 honors
  • Department of History: 2 honors
  • Department of Political Science: 12 honors
