Forever Footprints will hold its 8th Annual Walk to Remember event, sponsored by Jersey Mike’s, on Saturday, Oct. 28, at Cal State San Bernardino’s Institute for Child Development and Family Relations.

The event aims to remember babies lost to miscarriage, stillbirth, SIDS and infant death, while giving parents, siblings, family, friends and medical professionals an opportunity to take the steps their babies will never take.

The event will begin with registration at 8 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 9:30 a.m., memorial walk at 10:30 a.m. and end with a picnic at 11:30 a.m. The memorial service and walk will consist of a musical tribute, guest speaker, rose distribution and reading of the babies’ names.

Registration, which is $30, is required for every participant who attends the event. Children under the age of 10 are free. Registration may be done online at the IE Walk to Remember website.

“Walking in memory of” baby names can be submit with online registration until Oct. 24; after that date, the names must be submitted on-site at the event at the baby names table.

More than 1,000 participants are expected to attend in hopes of a day of peace and comfort for many enduring the pain of a lost baby.

Donations can be made on the registration page, along with the availability to purchase a walk T-shirt.
