Cal State San Bernardino’s WorkAbility IV will host a panel discussion on Thursday, Nov. 2, for students interested in a career in education.

The “Careers in Education Panel Discussion” will take place from noon to 2 p.m. in CSUSB’s Lower Commons Pine Room.

The 90-minute discussion will provide students the opportunity to learn and ask questions about education and career road maps from faculty and staff who work in education.

Panelists include:

  • Carolyn Eggleston, special education professor, executive director of the CSUSB Reentry Initiative, director of the Center for the Study of Correctional Education;
  • Steven Bronack, associate dean, education-administration;
  • James Graham, supplemental instruction coordinator, undergraduate studies ; and
  • Angela Arteaga, internship career counselor, Career Center.

Recently, WorkAbility IV (WA-IV) expanded its career services through a CSUSB Student Success Initiative grant. The expanded services provide tailored activities that foster relationships between students, faculty, staff and professionals with disabilities through five interactive panel discussions that center on different majors of study: psychology and related fields, information systems and related fields, business and public administration, education and natural sciences.

These 90-minute panel discussions provide students the opportunity to interact and learn about the road maps that CSUSB faculty, staff and professionals with disabilities in these major fields of study followed to obtain their positions. Moreover, professionals with disabilities will discuss disabilities and their impact on learning, the work environment and overcoming their particular challenge(s).

Lunch will be provided and the panel is free to attend, but seats are limited. To RSVP, please call Elizabeth Williams at (909) 537-3583 or email at Elizabeth.Williams@csusb.edu.

To request accommodations, please contact WorkAbility IV at (909) 537-7207 or email at WorkAbility@csusb.edu; 72-hour advance notice required.
