More than 1,000 Cal State San Bernardino students took refuge from warm, balmy weather by sledding, snowboarding and playing in makeshift wintery conditions for the 11th annual CSUSB Snow Day held on Jan. 18.

Ten tons of snow was trucked into the university’s lower commons grassy area, converting it into a winter play area complete with sled runs and a place to launch snowballs.

The event, which also featured food and information booths, a live DJ, games and giveaways, was sponsored by CSUSB Recreation and Wellness, Associated Students Inc., the Career Center, Alumni Relations, Student Union Program Board, Housing and Residential Education, and CSUSB Athletics.
