The John M. Pfau Library at Cal State San Bernardino, will host a comic book expo on Wednesday, Feb. 21. Everyone — students, staff, faculty, and members of the community — are welcome to participate in this free event.

The program runs from 12:30-3:30 p.m. in PL-5005, located on the fifth floor of the library. Parking is $6.

The Pfau Library has more than 3,200 comic books in its Special Collections, which include DC and Marvel superheroes, “The Walking Dead” series, “Archie,” and much more.

Some of the popular comic books will be on exhibit throughout the library.

The expo will also feature a costume contest with prizes. Attendees are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite comic book character or hero.

James Knight III, who served as a Pfau Library information archives specialist, will facilitate discussions on a range of subjects, including comic stories in the media, human themes in movies, cultural characters, science-based mysteries, and classic comedies.

Special guest Javier Hernandez, cartoonist, art educator, and co-founder of the “Latino Comics Expo,” will take part in the discussions, conduct an interactive workshop and sign autographs.

This is a great opportunity for comic book enthusiasts to meet and engage others with shared interests, and to learn about the wealth of comics material archived in the Pfau Library.
