Quality Start San Bernardino (QSSB)
Quality Start works to improve the quality of care provided to young children in center-based and family care homes. This is achieved through assessment of programs, classrooms, and teachers that result in data-driven coaching. CSUSB participates in this process by training and deploying college student assessors to collect objective data and translate this data into reports that can be used by coaches. To date, CSUSB has provided the county with high qualified, well trained assessors who have visited numerous early care programs across the county. Our efforts represent one of the few multi-agency efforts conducting work in this area and one of the only utilizing the expertise of higher education.
