Building Executive Functions for Academic Success Training

Building Executive Function for Academic Success Training (BeFAST)

BeFAST is a partnership between the University and the local community to bring faculty expertise into the local community. BeFAST serves K12 at-risk students in community day school (which are designed for high school-age students), as well as, elementary and university settings. BeFAST provides tablet-based cognitive training during the school day to support the development of cognitive abilities (e.g., working memory, attention, and executive function) that are critical to strong academic performance. An underlying notion of the program is that in supporting academic achievement, students are more likely to remain engaged in the educational experience and less likely to drop out.
