Big Sur is a rugged stretch of the breathtaking California coast; with mountains bordered around you can’t miss this soulful destination. Big Sur is known for its abundance of wildlife, winding roads, seaside cliffs, and misty coastlines; the seaside highway offers some of the most spectacular views of Big Sur’s unforgettable coastline from the various angles and pullovers. Not only will you be snapping future award-winning shots on the cliffs, but also adventuring into this exquisite wilderness with CSUSB Adventure on an authentic exploration.

Itinerary:

Day 1: We will meet at the SRWC at 800am, load the van up with some gears and necessities, and hit the roads toward Big Sur (7 hrs. 394 mi) stopping on the way for . We will stop to grab lunch and dinner (not provided) and refuel the van before reaching our destination. Upon arrival at the campsite, we will set the camp up and get some sleeps for the next day.

Day 2: After breakfast we will hike the 8-mile loop Creamery Meadow Trail in Andrew Molera State Park and take in the panoramic views and access the beach. We will have lunch along the trail and then head to Partington Cove to realx before going to McWay Falls for the sunset. We then return to camp to make dinner and warm by the campfire. 

Day 3: Once we fill our bellies we will go on a morning hike alon the 5-mile Buzzards Roost Trail. Be sure to watch your step for Banana Slugs! After lunch we will check out the Valley View Trail and Big Sur River Gorge. Wow, what a day! We end with a nice meal and more stories arroud the campfire. 

Day 4: Today we pack up camp and head back to CSUSB stoping along the way to eat lunch, stretch our legs and check out some coastal views. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


Weather

Food
9 meals are included, starting with dinner on day 1 (3 breakfasts, 1 lunch, and 1 dinner)
2 meals are not included (1 lunch, 1 dinner)

Hygiene and Comfort
We will be staying in reserved campsites. The campsites are within close proximity to flush toilets and there are coin operated showers. Drinking water is available at the campsite. You will have the option to share a tent with one or two people or sleep out under the cover of the stars.  Light weight tents, warm synthetic sleeping bags, foam pads and ground tarps will be provided to ensure a comfortable night’s sleep. The ground consists of soft soil.
