Catalina Island Field Excursion - Snorkel with a Marine Biologist

Join us on October 22 for an all-day excursion to the central California coast! Join Dr. Heras, marine biologist, and Dr. Youngs, Interim Director of the Honors College as we explore Catalina Island on this snorkeling adventure. The Honors College will provide the group van transportation from CSUSB campus to Long Beach harbor, one-and-a-half-hour ferry ticket ride over to Catalina Island.  In addition, students will experience snorkeling in the ocean and learning about fish and marine life identification. Students will bring snorkeling rental gear from October 14 water safety and swim test with them. Students are required to bring their own lunch for the van ride over to Long Beach (about two hours one way to Long Beach) and money for group dinner on the island.  Please refer to the packing list that was given to you at the October 14 event for items to bring along. Only students who have attended and passed the water safety and swim test on October 14 can attend.
