Ami Davis Speaking Event

The event would support the entire campus community of students. Throughout our departments we have had many students, staff, and faculty members come to us and ask how they can create safe spaces, how can they support students who are triggered by current events, how can they establish unity through inclusion, and how can they help facilitate healthy conversations with safe spaces that allow our campus community to feel heard. Providing an event that is dedicated to supporting these concerns and questions would be a first step in allowing the campus to know we hear them, and that we genuinely care about providing these spaces where we can all collaborate to create an even bigger support system. The event would include a professional speaker, Ami Davis, who is an excellent speaker and is well versed in these topics and can bring some awareness to cultural diversity, inclusion, compassion in times of uncertainty, self-care, and managing triggers
