Power to the San Bernardino campus has been restored as of 9:55 a.m. Normal campus operations will resume Friday, July 26th. Essential staff with questions on whether to report should contact their appropriate administrator. Facilities Management will be working to check all building systems including HVAC, elevators and fire alarms. If power has not been restored in your work area when you return, please report that to Facilities Planning and Management at (909) 537-5175. The Palm Desert Campus remains open and operational.

CSUSB 2024 Summer Institute: Next Generation Science Standards and Integration

OVERVIEW:

The Watson College of Education at CSUSB will hold two summer institutes to develop elementary teachers’ knowledge and practices of teaching the Next Generation Science Standards. The Summer 2024 Institute will focus on TK-3rd grades, and the Summer 2025 Institute will focus on 4th-6th grades.

We want to invite SBCUSD TK-3rd grade elementary teachers to the 2024 Summer Institute. 

OBJECTIVES:

Teachers will be able to . . .

  • Build knowledge of NGSS and science content knowledge
  • Re-design curricula that integrate science, math, and ELA.
  • Develop understanding and practice of culturally relevant pedagogy.

Attendees can choose between receiving a Teacher Stipend of $900 OR One Graduate College Credit for participating in this summer institute. You must commit to all four days to receive the stipend or college credit. Lunch, snacks, coffee, and parking passes will be provided.

Registration spots are limited to the first 25 participants. If more than 25 teachers register, you will be placed on a waitlist and notified if a spot opens up.
