Enjoy 4 nights camping by Lake Tahoe where we will enjoy basking in the sun filled beaches, going on leisurely hikes through beautiful scenery, exploring Tahoe Valley and of course great photo opportunities. We will begin our first day with a short hike followed by leisurely biking through some of the best beaches Lake Tahoe has to offer with a tasty reward at the end. On the second day we will visit historic sites occupied by mansions and castles. The last day will be spent exploring Tahoe Valley’s many shopping centers with and end of the day Heavenly Village summer concert.

Palm Desert Campus, Meet in front of Indian Wells Theater at 7:00am

Itinerary 

Day 1: We meet at the Palm Desert Campus Indian Wells Theater at 7:00am and the San Bernardino Campus SRWC at 8:00am. After loading the van we start our drive to Lake Tahoe stopping for lunch and gas along the way. Once we arrive at Emerald Bay State Park we set up and camp, have dinner and relax by the campfire.  

Day 2: After breakfast we will hike the Cathedral Lakes Trails (4.9 miles) and enjoy lunch along the trail. In the afternoon we will go for a bike ride and explore Pope and Baldwin Beach. We will also peddle to Camp Richardson and try the best calamari in town at the Beacon restaurant. After returning our bikes we return to camp for dinner and socializing. 

Day 3: Today we will hike the Vikingsholm Castle Loop (2.5 miles) before touring the Castle on a guided 30-minute tour. We will enjoy our sack lunch at the beach. The afternoon we will visit Tallac Historic Site before returning to camp to enjoy some more beach time. Dinner will be back at camp. 

Day 4: On our last full day we will check out 1 or 2 more hikes and spend the afternoon in the Village shopping and exploring. Dinner will be on your own in town and we end the day with some live music in Village. back at camp we enjoy one last campfire. 

Day 5: After breakfast we pack up camp and start the drive back to CSUSB. We will stop at Manzanar National Historic Site along the way back as well. We plan to arrive back at CSUSB after dinner.

Food
10 meals are included, starting with dinner on day 1 (4 breakfasts, 3 lunches, and 3 dinners)
4 meal are not included (2 lunch and 2 dinners) 

Hygiene and Comfort
We will be staying in reserved campsites. The campsites are within close proximity to potable water, vault toilets and there are showers. We will treat water from a nearby spring or bring enough water from CSUSB. You will have the option to share a tent with one or two people or sleep out under the cover of the stars.  Light weight tents, warm synthetic sleeping bags, foam pads and ground tarps will be provided to ensure a comfortable night’s sleep. The ground consists of soft and hard soil.
