Know the Signs: Suicide is Preventable

Some of our friends, family members, and peers struggle with emotional pain. And, for some, it's too difficult to talk about the pain, share their thoughts of suicide, and let others know their need for help. Though the warning signs can be subtle, they are there. By recognizing these signs, knowing how to start a conversation and where to turn for help, you have the power to make a difference – the power to save a life. Attend to learn the signs! 

Presenters: Jenn Carson, M.A. Crisis Line Supervisor/ INLAND SOCAL 211+ and Joey Holland, B.A. Crisis Trained 211 Operations Supervisor/Inland SoCal United Way.

Jenn Carson runs 951-686-HELP, Inland SoCal United Way’s Crisis Helpline, founded in 1968. Jenn holds a B.A. from Baylor University and an M.A. in Counseling from George Washington University. Jenn is also a Board Member of the American Association of Suicidology. Jenn also has lived experience expertise as a childhood suicide attempt survivor and knows help works! Suicide is preventable. 

Joey has lived experience assisting adults with Mental Health Concerns. Joey supervises 211 Community Resource Advisors and Helpline Crisis trained staff.
