On February 24, 2022, the Russian Federation launched a large-scale invasion of its neighboring country, Ukraine. This has resulted in the one of the largest conventional warfare operation in Europe since the end of World War Two. The conflict is leading to a massive humanitarian crisis in Ukraine and is creating an international security crisis that has the potential of growing into a regional or global conflict. With the U.S. having the second largest population of individuals of Ukrainian descent in the world and California having the third largest Ukrainian American population in the U.S., this conflict is impacting one’s neighbors, friends and family members.  This teach-in will explore the history leading up to the current conflict and the implications of the conflict both regionally and globally. Further, the teach-in will help educate our campus community on the impact this conflict has on members of our campus and beyond into the Inland Empire.
