Zoom Online
'Unless the racism is addressed and eradicated in the places you are looking to make 'diverse', you are simply bringing people of color into unsafe spaces.' – Unknown In 'How to be an Antiracist' (2019), Dr. Ibram Kendi asserts that racist ideas are eliminated by eradicating racist policies. This session will focus on how the concept of antiracism applies to policies through an exploration of how antiracism is framed and understood by the law and by advocates of equity. We will explore how we can use legal and advocacy frameworks to reflect on our University policies and move towards identifying racist policies to change racist ideas and to adopt an anti-racist agenda. Facilitated by Seval Yildirim.
