As part of the CSU Systemwide Cross-Collaboration Professional Development Program, many classes that were formerly in-person are now offered virtually. This gives us a unique opportunity to extend campus classes beyond campus borders and offer a new way to share professional development across the CSU!

Description: Understanding how to communicate and ask for what you want assertively has many benefits – it allows you to get things done while treating others with fairness and respect, negotiate mutually beneficial solutions, feel less anxious and stressed, and walk through the world with greater confidence. However, truly assertive communication can be difficult to identify since people often confuse assertiveness with aggression. During this workshop, we will explore what it means to be assertive and discuss strategies for incorporating and practicing this important skill in your professional life.
