Strategies for Managing Nerves and Public Speaking
As part of the CSU Systemwide Cross-Collaboration Professional Development Program, many classes that were formerly in-person are now offered virtually. This gives us a unique opportunity to extend campus classes beyond campus borders and offer a new way to share professional development across the CSU!
Description: Public speaking and presenting can be nerve-wracking, especially when you haven’t had much experience or practice exercising these skills. Yet there will be moments in our career when we are called upon to speak publicly. Therefore, it’s important to develop strategies and techniques you can leverage to manage your nerves so you can focus on delivering an effective and engaging presentation. During this workshop, we will discuss how you can prepare yourself now to handle anxiety that may come during your next public speaking engagement.
