China: The Revolution is Dead; Long Lives the Revolution

Marching proudly into an era of globalization, market economy and consumer culture, China no longer looks very revolutionary. We must rethink the grand narrative of modern Chinese history. How can we understand revolution in a new narrative that sees more than just failure in the pre-revolutionary past, and more than just the rejection of revolution in the post-Mao present?
