Itinerary
Day 1: Begin the day at 8:00am at PDC or 9:00am at SBC by meeting up with our amazing experienced leaders. We'll work together to pack all the gear into our vans and after we'll get to know each other through activities. And begin our 6.5 hour drive to Watchman campground. Once we arrive we will settle in and enjoy the rest of the night playing games and preparing to hit the hay.
Day 2: Wake up early, have a hearty breakfast and pack lunch for later. Start heading over to the narrows where you'll experience gigantic slot canyons as we travel up river stopping along the way to explore. Once we reach a good spot we'll stop and enjoy our lunch with a side of Zion. We'll return and take the shuttle to check out the visitor center, listen to a ranger talk and learn more about Zion Canyon. Then we'll head back to our campsite and enjoy the rest of the night with Smores.
Day 3: After breakfast and preparing lunch we'll take the shuttle to Kayenta trail and explore as we make our way to the Lower Emerald pools, one of Zion's beautiful attractions. Then we'll have our lunch at the Zion Lodge where we will be able to explore the gift shop. Afterwards hike the Watchman trail.
Day 4: After preparing our food we'll take the shuttle to begin our biggest hike of the week. We'll be doing Angels Landing, an amazing hike with an even more rewarding view. It's a 5.4 mile hike with a 1,488 ft elevation gain. Angels landing's name came from the first people who once said that the point was so high only Angels could land there.
Day 5: We will start the day early and have breakfast. We will pack up camp the head over to Water Canyon trail head via the shuttle. Afterward we'll load into the van and head to our last hike before heading home. Will be stopping at Overlook Canyon then head back to campus. We will arrive back at campus approximately at 10:00pm
