Two-time CSUSB alumna Isabel Quintero has built a celebrated writing career rooted in her heritage and community. A first-generation college graduate and lifelong resident of the Inland Empire, she earned both her bachelor of arts in English literature (2005) and her master of arts in English composition (2013) from Cal State San Bernardino.
At CSUSB, Quintero discovered the power of seeing her identity reflected in literature and learned that her culture and language were worthy of being written about. Her professors encouraged her to tell authentic stories, inspiring her to create award
