Won an award for best working paper at the Society for Consumer Psychology 2020 annual conference

Marketing assistant professor Melika Kordrostami received the award for her paper, "Sexual agency and advertising."

Dr. Kordrostami Wins Award For Best Working Paper

Marketing assistant professor Melika Kordrostami received an award for best working paper at the Society for Consumer Psychology 2020 annual conference for her paper, "Sexual agency and advertising," which is co-authored with her sister, Elika Kordrostami, an assistant professor of marketing at Rowan University. 

Kordrostami, who has a Ph.D. in marketing from Iowa State University, teaches courses such as Marketing Principles and Consumer Behavior. Her great passion towards empowering women led her to focus her dissertation on female power portrayals in advertising. She won the best “Three Minutes Thesis Presentation” at Iowa State University.

Moreover, she is engaged in other research projects concerning consumer behavior, culture and consumption, emotion, and branding. Her research has been published in high impact marketing journals such as Journal of Marketing Management and Journal of Product and Brand Management.
