CSUSB Celebrates Mental Health Awareness Month with CAPS Carnival

California State University, San Bernardino’s Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), a department within the Division of Student Affairs, hosted its annual Mental Health Awareness Carnival in celebration of Mental Health Awareness Month, providing students with resources, support, and a moment of calm during the busy finals season.
Held on campus, the carnival featured interactive activities such as classic carnival games, giveaways, free snacks and pizza, and a visit from emotional support animals—all aimed at encouraging students to take time to de-stress and prioritize their mental health. The event was well-attended and served as an engaging and informative space for students to connect with wellness resources in a fun and welcoming environment.
CAPS plays a vital role in supporting the university’s mission of academic success and social justice by promoting the mental well-being of CSUSB students, the campus community, and the broader region. The department offers counseling, outreach, advocacy, and consultation in a safe, supportive, and culturally informed environment.
Located in the Health Center Building on campus, CAPS continues to provide services throughout the summer, ensuring students have access to care when they need it most.
