
Award-winning filmmaker and CSUSB lecturer Johnny Coffeen is preparing to premiere his debut feature-length film, “The Avalanche.” Coffeen, whose journey includes a Student Academy Award for “The Swan Girl” and studying with acclaimed filmmaker David Lynch, shares his passion for cinema with CSUSB students while continuing to build a distinctive career in filmmaking.

Returning for a second time, Jess Block Nerren, alumna and full-time lecturer in the Department of Communication and Media, will become the Faculty Disability Inclusion Fellow for Cal State San Bernardino on Aug. 18.

The first-ever State Bar-approved neurodiversity and disability implicit bias training for attorneys will be offered on Nov. 15 from noon-1 p.m. Inclusion scholar Jess Nerren, alumna and full-time lecturer in the Department of Communication and Media, will lead the discussion and training, which will be offered in person and online via Zoom.

CSUSB alumni Amanda Fernandez ’16 and Aimee Alvarez ’11 have partnered with the Department of Communication and Media on "Coyotes to Hollywood and Beyond," an initiative, which provides a major-media internship pipeline for CSUSB students seeking internships in Hollywood, Burbank and Palm Springs.
