Brian Levin, chair of the California Commission on the State of Hate and founding director of CSUSB's Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism, was quoted in an article highlighting the commission’s 2024-25 annual report. The report found that hate activity remains elevated statewide, with Black Californians continuing to experience disproportionate harm. Levin noted that while hate has increased significantly over the past decade, California is leading the nation in efforts to address the surge.
