Cal State San Bernardino will present "Marks of Resilience," an exhibition featuring seven artists from the university’s Master of Fine Arts program, on view Dec. 4-11 in the Robert and Frances Fullerton Museum of Art’s Dutton Family Gallery. The public is invited to an opening reception on Dec. 4 from 4-6 p.m.

Through sculpture, painting, fiber art, mixed media and performance-inspired work, the exhibition explores how pain, devotion, memory and disruption can give rise to renewal. Each artist brings a distinct perspective shaped by personal history and collective experience.

Jovanna Moya reclaims discarded materials to reveal the ecological and social costs of consumerism. Alessandro Corsaro blends glass, surrealism, and religious iconography to honor queer embodiment. Molly Fitzgerald uses raw paint and artifacts of faith to reflect on addiction, devotion and loss. Chrissy Hanula’s work transforms personal trauma into meditations on secrecy, survival and growth. Erica Penuela channels intuitive creation and feminine resilience as a pathway to restoration. Meghan Sorenson stitches grief and tenderness into fiber pieces that honor love and labor. Ashley Vasquez draws on clown imagery to highlight the humor and performance that often accompany healing.

“Together, these artists illuminate the beauty of repair and the power of persistence,” said the exhibition team. "Marks of Resilience" invites viewers to witness how transformation begins in confronting what endures.
