His work exemplifies the spirit of this award, as he has actively contributed to bridging advisors across institutions and borders through his scholarship, leadership and innovative use of digital platforms.”

“I am deeply honored by the nomination from Dr. McGill and to receive this prestigious award,” Markin said. “Charlie Nutt is a mentor to so many of us in the academic advising field, and I hope to continue to make him proud. Thank you to UKAT, LVSA, and the selection committee. I am truly appreciative of this honor.”

Markin is the host and producer of the Adventures in Advising podcast, a platform for international engagement in academic advising. Since its launch in January 2020, the podcast has featured nearly 125 episodes and nearly 225 guests.
