CSUSB’s Womxn’s History Month celebration will conclude with the annual Womxn’s Leadership Conference, featuring keynote speaker San Bernardino Mayor Helen Tran, on March 29 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Santos Manuel Student Union South. The event is free and open to the public. Registration is preferred, not required.

Tran took office in 2022 and serves as the executive leader for the city of San Bernardino. In her role, Tran is responsible for goal setting, policy making, and the management and operations of the city during her four-year term. A public servant and nonprofit leader, Tran is passionate about giving back to the community, and she devotes much of her spare time to civic leadership.

This year’s theme for Womxn’s History Month and the conference is “Sisterhood & Solidarity.” Since 1995, the goal of the conference has been to help womxn become stronger leaders, inspire them to create a more accepting, equitable environment, and empower them to embrace their authentic selves.

The Womxn’s Leadership Conference will include panel discussions on topics, such as DEI initiatives and cultural competency, led by the president's DEI board co-chief diversity officers, Kelly Campbell and Robin Phillips, as well as representatives from CSUSB's affinity groups.

A panel will also be held with distinguished CSUSB alumni who will discuss a variety of topics and share their stories and perspectives.

Attendees will have the opportunity to network and learn from their peers, accomplished womxn and CSUSB alumni. Lunch will be provided to the first 75 registrants.

At CSUSB, we intentionally spell womxn with an X as an objection to the patriarchal idea that womxn are an extension to men and the inclusion of all womxn goes beyond just cis-women.
