The unique heritage of Latin America, with all its distinctive ethnic and cultural influences, will be celebrated at the inaugural Dia de la Raza celebration at Cal State San Bernardino by the university’s Association of Latino Faculty, Staff and Students on Thursday, Oct. 12.

The free meet-and-greet event, which will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Fourplex of the university’s Santos Manuel Student Union, will feature live music and appetizers. Acto Latino, the CSUSB student theater group, will have educational tables on display.

The event will have an opportunity drawing, and donations will be accepted for ALFSS scholarships to students.

Día de la Raza is celebrated on Oct. 12 in various Latin American countries, including i  Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Honduras, Mexico, Uruguay and Venezuela.
