Jim Clover, a lecturer in the CSUSB kinesiology department and currently sports clinic coordinator at Riverside Medical Clinic, will be among the inductees in the 2018 class for the Riverside Sport Hall of Fame when the hall hosts its annual dinner in the spring.

Clover, who teaches sports medicine classes at Cal State San Bernardino and area high schools, also is the owner of Clover Enterprises Inc., which provides athletic training to more than 30 high schools in Southern California.

He is also known for inventing the “Trainer’s Angel,” a tool that helps trainers safely remove a facemask from the helmet of an injured football player.

Clover, a graduate of Ohio State University, has authored several books and produced videos on various athletic training topics.

Many of Clover’s endeavors are managed through the nonprofit SPORT Foundation.

The Riverside Sport Hall of Fame is dedicated to fostering an appreciation for the role sports play in contributing to the quality of life in Riverside. According to its website, the hall honors athletes, coaches, athletic administrators and community leaders who have brought fame or honor to the city of Riverside through their involvement in athletics.
