CSUSB professor joins radio panel discussion on what constitutes a terrorist attackWOSU (Ohio NPR)March 27, 2018

Kevin Grisham, assistant director of research for the Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism at CSUSB and chair of the geography and environmental studies department, was one of the panelists on the WOSU program “All Sides” participating in a discussion what constitutes a terrorist attack.

For less than three weeks, the city of Austin, Texas, was rocked by random bombings conducted by Mark Conditt, a young white male. Many news outlets and law enforcement groups have been hesitant to call the crimes terrorism. The panel discussed what terrorism is defined as, and the bias people have when discussing terrorism.

Joining Grisham were Emily Davidson, who teaches media and terrorism, at The Ohio State University, and Romin Iqbal, legal director for the Council on American Islamic Relations.

Grisham joined the program at the about the 17-minute mark.
