The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Cal State San Bernardino’s Palm Desert Campus is currently accepting registrations for its fall quarter of classes. The fall session begins on Oct. 19 with a week of free bonus lectures.

This fall’s regular six-week Osher courses include the topics America and the Islamic World, The Golden Age of Radio and TV, How to Spot a Masterpiece, Modern Astronomy and Making News in Modern Media.

“In addition to our traditional on-campus classes, we’re offering some fun, new learning trips this fall,” said Sue Anderson, director of professional and continuing education at the CSUSB Palm Desert Campus. “The learning trips are a great way to explore our unique desert communities.”

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute is a program designed for adults 50 and older who want to experience learning for the fun of it. Osher offers non-credit, university-level courses, but without the grades, tests or homework. Membership is open to mature adults who enjoy learning, regardless of past educational background. Quarterly memberships of $150 include up to five courses that typically include topics in the arts and humanities, natural sciences and social sciences.

Fall courses are held at Cal State San Bernardino’s Palm Desert Campus, 37-500 Cook St.
