Last week about 1,500 Cal State San Bernardino students didn’t have to go to the mountains for winter play. It snowed on the lawn in front of the university’s John M. Pfau library last week, and it was icy enough for skating.
OK, so 30 tons of snow was trucked in and the skating was done on a temporary ice rink, but it was still wintery enough for students to sled, throw snowballs and skate for the ninth annual CSUSB Snow Day.
The event was sponsored by the CSUSB Associated Students, Inc. and CSUSB Recreation and Wellness, with the help of the university’s Santos Manuel Student Union, said ASI executive director Shannon Stratton.
Snow Day also included food, a deejay and various information booths that included CSUSB Peer Health counselors and educators, the Veteran’s Success Center and the university’s Office of Community Engagement.
