In celebration of CSUSB’s 50th anniversary, the Robert and Frances Fullerton Museum of Art will present “Time and Place: 47 years of Art Faculty at CSUSB.”
The exhibition will be on display through May 14.
Featuring artwork of almost 30 current and emeritus faculty members, the exhibition explores the last five decades of teaching, creating and presenting art.
Examining the significance of time and influence of place, the exhibition includes artwork created during the period that each artist was a member of the CSUSB department of art faculty.
In conjunction with the exhibition, the museum held an art faculty panel “Time + Place: Looking to the Future” on April 21.
Against the context of the exhibition, which focuses on the history of the department from 1969 to the present, this panel of current art department faculty explored the department as it stands now and what it hopes to become going forward.
The panel was moderated by CSUSB department of art professor emerita Sant Khalsa, and featured current department chair Matthew Poole with current department professors Katherine Gray, Annie Buckley, Thomas McGovern and Andrew Oakes. A reception, co-sponsored by CSUSB’s Office of Alumni Relations, followed the panel event.
