A free workshop on how to start a small business will be offered on Thursday, June 16, by the Inland Empire Women’s Business Center, a program of the Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship at Cal State San Bernardino.

“The ABCs of Starting Your Own Business” will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Fontana Community Senior Center, 16710 Ceres Ave. in Fontana. To register, visit the IEWBC website.

Participants will receive contact information for the government and business entities that are part of the start-up process, including where to go for permits and licenses. The workshop also will have information on the various legal forms of organization and funding sources for local existing and aspiring small business owners.

“This workshop will give aspiring business owners an overview of resources that will help them navigate the process of setting up their small business,” said Nicole Kinney, director of the Inland Empire Women’s Business Center. “Deciding which legal structure is right for their business and understanding available sources of funding can impact how a business is formed and its chances for a successful start.”
