The sports and entertainment marketing students of California State University, San Bernardino will host the 9th annual Spring Classic Golf Tournament scholarship fundraiser on Saturday, June 11.

“I am pleased to have guided the sports and entertainment marketing class for its 9th annual Spring Classic,” said Haakon Brown, a CSUSB marketing professor. “It is a great way to have the students experience the know-hows of real event planning and gather information the can use in the near future.”

The tournament will be held at Oak Valley Golf Club in Beaumont, with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. The course is the venue a variety of events, from local clubs to hosting for the PGA Tour Qualifying Tournament. Its signature design is filled with challenges to test players of all skill levels.

Each year, the advanced sports marketing and entertainment class offered in CSUSB’s College of Business and Public Administration organizes a charity golf event that supports outstanding academic achievement within the sports and entertainment marketing program.

“Being able to leave an impact as future alumni, I would say, is what drives our team to achieve these goals,” said Gabrielle Cantun, class lead.

The CSUSB Marketing Scholarship Fund is a 501(c)(3) organization, with all proceeds going toward helping fellow business students fund their education.

Foursomes are currently priced at $500, while single entries are available at $135 per golfer and $125 for CSUSB affiliates. Each entry includes a golf cart, lunch, dinner, and special edition gifts. There will also be a silent auction and two contests being held during the tournament.
