The university’s Information and Technology Services is holding Tech Days beginning today, Tuesday, Oct. 18, through Thursday, Oct. 20.

The highlight of its programs is the Software Download Party that runs through 2 p.m. today in the John M. Pfau Library, room 013 (the basement). Billed as “Free Pizza and Downloads,” students are being encouraged to bring their laptops, tablets and phones to the event, where support techs will show them how to download the latest version of Microsoft Office 365 for free.

Also note that CSUSB students, faculty, and staff can download Microsoft Office 365 anytime, anywhere. Attendance at the download party is not required. Visit the ITS software page for more details.

Also taking place today through 2 p.m. is a Technology Open House in the Pfau Library Wedge on the first floor. The ITS Division has opened up its Technology Support Center and Assistive Technology and Accessibility Center, and the meet the CSUSB Mobile App team is there to meet with visitors.

A Tech Hook-Up Booth has been set up outside the Santos Manuel Student Union and will be available through 4 p.m. today. Visitors can learn all about the resources and services ITS provides to the campus community.

Tech Days continues on Wedensday, Oct. 19, when ITS hosts another Technology Open House from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Pfau Library, room 003 (in the basement), which is home to the IDEA Lab/Lounge. Some of the exciting things going on in the IDEA lab, including demonstrations on virtual reality/augmented reality, 3-D printing, and instructional video production. Also meet the staff from several ITS departments.

ITS will also have its “Training Services Road Show,” in which it will send techs throughout the campus, offering help in the use of Office 365, Google Apps, ZOOM and more.

On Thursday, Oct. 20, the ITS team really goes on the road to the CSUSB Palm Desert Campus, where it will host a Technology Open House and Download Party in the Rogers Gateway lobby from 11 a.m.–2 p.m.

PDC students, faculty and staff will have the opportunity to learn about the services and software that the ITS Division provides for the campus community. And, a free lunch will be available while they can download Microsoft Office 365 and other great software with help from ITS Techs.
