When the cooler, crisp days of autumn mark the calendar, college campuses mark their annual homecoming celebrations — and Cal State San Bernardino is no different, with a week of activities set to welcome back alumni and the community to the campus.

Homecoming week officially runs Monday-Saturday, Oct. 17-22, and will culminate with the annual Homecoming Bash on Saturday, Oct. 22.

“We transitioned Homecoming from the winter quarter to fall to add to the excitement of a new school year,” said Doreen Hatcher, director of Alumni Relations at CSUSB. “This will also allow for better travel opportunities for alumni who are not local and experience harsh winter weather.”

Before the official start of the Homecoming Bash at 4 p.m. at the Coyote Den, the campus will host its Homecoming Parade beginning at 3:30 p.m., featuring decorated golf carts and other displays of Coyote Pride. The prime viewing area will be between The Commons and Serrano Village.

That will be followed by the Homecoming Bash at the Coyote Den, with live music provided by Lifetime Rocker, and featuring a host of food and beverage vendors. Also at the bash will be a kids zone with face painting, balloon art, crafts, an inflatable attractions; a photo booth; the Coyote Spirit Station; and a special appearance by CSUSB mascot Cody the Coyote.

“The Homecoming Bash on Saturday is a great event for alumni, family and friends to come together in a fun environment to enjoy great food and entertainment,” Hatcher said. “Lifetime Rocker is an awesome local band that plays all kinds of music and will keep the party going.”

Tickets for the bash are $10 per person, and free Coyote volleyball homecoming game tickets will be given to the first 100 Homecoming Bash attendees.

Then stay to cheer on the nationally ranked CSUSB women’s volleyball team as it hosts Cal State Dominguez Hills at 7 p.m. in Coussoulis Arena. For ticket information, call 909-537-5011.
