The Student New Play Showcase featuring 'Mujer Fuerte' — produced by Carol Damgen, written by Chloe Diaz, and directed directed by Cal State San Bernardino senior theatre arts student Brandon Marquez — will make its debut at the university on Thursday, Oct. 20.

The play is set in 1944 in Southern California, and while Americans on the home front work to support the war effort, Grace, a young Mexican American woman, struggles to find her own voice in spite of racial and cultural obstacles of the times.

'Mujer Fuerte' will be performed in the Black Box Theatre on Oct. 20, 21 and 22 at 8 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 23, at 2 p.m.

Individual and season tickets can be purchased from the CSUSB Theatre Arts Box Office, or online at theatre.csusb.edu.

Subscriptions range from $20 to $50, with individual tickets at $6 for students and children under 17; $12 for faculty, staff, senior citizens and military; $15 for adults.

Performances take place in the Ronald E. Barnes Theatre on the CSUSB campus.
