Robert Nava, vice president for the Division of University Advancement at Cal State San Bernardino, will appear on Coyote Radio’s Sustainability Show on Friday, Feb. 22, from 2-3 p.m. Nava will explore Socially Responsible Investing (SRI), a topic that he has written about in The Presidency, the American Council on Education’s (ACE) magazine for higher education leaders, as well as Trusteeship Magazine by the Association of Governing Boards (AGB) of universities and colleges. In 2016, Nava presented his paper about SRI at the CETYS (Centro de Enseñanza Técnica y Superior) University 55th Anniversary and International Seminar on Innovation in Higher Education. He discussed innovation and social responsibility within San Francisco State University, where he served as vice president of University Advancement before assuming his role at CSUSB. “We are faced with unprecedented challenges, both nationally and globally,” his paper reads. “Universities have special standing and a long tradition of addressing the most pressing social, economic and environmental issues through research, teaching and public service. The forces of disruption and change will require bold thinking to enable us to envision and build a sustainable future.” The Sustainability Show, which launched in November 2017, is an educational and entertaining talk show about global and regional sustainability, hosted by its creator Breena E. Coates, professor emeritus of corporate strategy. Listeners can tune in to the Sustainability Show at radio.csusb.edu, or download the Coyote Radio app.  To listen to previous shows, visit its Soundcloud page. Live Sustainability Shows are taped on the last Friday of the month, 2-3 p.m. The program re-runs every subsequent Friday at the same time.
