The history of baseball and softball — and its importance in the Latino community of the Inland Empire — will be the topic of a free panel discussion on Saturday, May 13, at Cal State San Bernardino’s John M. Pfau Library.

“Mexican American Baseball and Softball in the Inland Empire,” a book signing and panel discussion presented by the Latino Baseball History Project housed at CSUSB, will take place from noon to 2 p.m. at Pfau Library room PL-4005.

Author Richard Santillan, professor emeritus of ethnic and women studies at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and co-author and historian Mark A. Ocegueda will serve as the keynote speakers and be available to sign books and answer questions.

Participants are encouraged to bring vintage baseball photographs to add to the Latino Baseball History Project collection.
