Make A Difference Day at CSUSB
College of Extended and Global Education and OCE co-hosted a service project facilitated by Together We Rise, a nonprofit organization that supports foster youth by providing resources and education. Over 135 international students and other Yoties had the opportunity to pack and decorate 100 STEM themed box for foster youth. Youth in foster care are 16 times less likely to be prepared for credit-based STEM coursework, and this initiative will hopefully spark students’ interest and knowledge. Project evaluations found 90% of volunteers felt a sense of community at CSUSB by volunteering at this event. The service project was supported through SSI funds.
