The Common Yellowthroat is an uncommon, year-round resident in the CSUSB Preserve, especially when water or marshy vegetation is present. It may occasionally be seen on campus during spring and fall migration. It is a common, year-round breeding resident in marshes and riparian areas throughout southern California.
High Count: 10, Average Count: 1-3
Adult male Common Yellowthroats have olive green upperparts, mostly yellow underparts, and a black mask bordered above by white. Females lack the adult male's black mask, and immature males have a partial black mask.
