The Common Raven is a common, year-round resident on campus. It generally occurs individually or in pairs, but occasionally is seen in small flocks (5-6 birds). It is a common breeding resident throughout southern California, especially the deserts, mountains, and foothills, but tends to avoid heavily populated areas.
High Count: 12, Average Count: 2
The Common Raven is entirely black, and can be distinguished from the similar looking American Crow by its larger size, more pointed wings, and wedge-shaped tail.
