The Greater Yellowlegs is a rare visitor to campus from October to April. It is best looked for in shallow water in flooded basins around Badger Hill. It is a common migrant and winter visitor throughout southern California.
The Greater Yellowlegs can be identified by it gray head and upperparts with small white spots, white eye ring and belly, and bright yellow legs.
