Welcome to Women of Color in Academia at CSUSB
Purpose
Women of Color in Academia was established at CSUSB in Fall 2016 by untenured women of color faculty. Our primary mission is to converge teaching, research, and social action as well as to create a space in which women of color faculty can discuss these aspects of their professional careers through an intersectional perspective. We acknowledge that our professional experiences are shaped by being women of color in academia and we strive to provide women of color faculty with opportunities for networking, mentoring, collaboration, and self-care. We provide a necessary service to the institution.
We have informal gatherings every quarter and our discussion topics arise organically based on the needs of our members, current events, as well as personal and professional goals.
