With hard work, dedication and perseverance, Darren Goodman, CSUSB lecturer of criminal justice and trailblazer, has made history as the first Black chief of police in San Bernardino.
In his dual role, Chief Goodman significantly influences the next generation of civic leaders. His commitment to the community and his passion for mentoring are central to his professional ethos. Reflecting on his career, Chief Goodman said, "My proudest accomplishments aren’t the great cases I worked on or accolades that I’ve accumulated. I’m proudest of all the people I’ve got to help in some way."
