Campus Receiving and Mail Service
Our Mission
The mission of Receiving and Mail Services is to provide efficient, reliable, and professional mail and logistical support to the university community. We are responsible for processing official university mail, receiving and distributing goods delivered to the university, and coordinating outgoing shipments for departments, faculty, and staff. Through timely service, accountability, and operational excellence, we support the university’s educational, research, and administrative objectives.
Resident/ Student Mail & Packages
Housing resident student’s mail & packages are received & sorted by the Housing department staff. We do not receive, process, sort or hold any mail/ packages addressed to the correct Housing Department’s address.
Proper addressing is imperative to ensure mail and packages are properly processed and quickly distributed to student residents. Please use the CSUSB Housing-specific address format provided below for all items being sent to/received by residents.

Due to university & department policy, the Mail Services department does not have access to student records, residency status, or student status. All mail & packages received that do not reflect an active department, faculty or staff member will be refused as ‘Not Known at Address’ & returned to sender.
The address, ‘5500 University Pkwy’ is the campus wide address & is for departmental, faculty & staff use only.

Mail Pickup & Delivery Services
Please note that in order for your mail to go out “same day” it should be at University Mail Services no later than 2:00 p.m. Should your department need additional assistance, please notify us now or contact us by phone at (909) 537-5151. .
Faculty/Staff Change of Location Notice
In the event that you change departments on campus, you will need to alert University Mail Services and Receiving of your new location. This will enable us to route your mail and packages more accurately. Please notify us of your change of location.
Department Office Closure Notice
In the event that your department will be closed during the normal business hours, (M-F 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.) please notify us of your department closure This will enable us to better prepare for deliveries that may be coming to your department.
Intra-Campus Mail
To prepare mail for on-campus delivery (intra-campus mail):
- Only intra-campus manila or plain manila envelopes should be used for your intra-campus mail.
- When possible, you should band it separately from outgoing First-Class mail.
- When using intra-campus envelopes, please remember to cross out the previous address and name.
