What are Interest Packs?
In their simplest form, Interest Packs are tools for establishing and maintaining campus involvement through use of categorized events and academic workshops. They allow you to take control of your path at CSUSB and enhance your college journey overall. By participating, you will discover your strengths, build confidence in those abilities, and improve comfortability in social settings. Plus, you may be exposed to new educational and professional opportunities you might not have come across otherwise.
Purpose:
Through this program, you are able to explore personal interests outside of your major, build community, grow soft skills and life experience, enhance employability, and make full use of the resources CSUSB has to offer.
"Involvement has a positive effect on employers' perception. Students who were moderately involved in co-curricular activities were 2x more likely to be considered for a job than uninvolved students, while highly involved students were 3x more likely" (The Ohio State University, 2020).
"Involvement may promote well-being... 56% of students who spend just one to five hours per week on these activities say it's easy to meet people which increases alongside the involvement time" (Flaherty, 2023).
