Why I Love Working At CSUSB

"I was inspired to join Cal State San Bernardino because this school is my alma mater. I had a lot of folks who supported me as a student in my growth, development and success. I see myself in our students and with the right amount of love and support they too can reach the stars and pass down knowledge and experiences. I started at CSUSB’s workforce as a student assistant. My views of the world were very black and white. My experiences being a student assistant in Admissions and Student Recruitment as well as in the Financial Aid Office challenged me to see our students outside of my perspective and to be compassionate about their realities. No one is a cookie cutter, and even cookie cutters come in all shapes and sizes. Working in Financial Aid ignited a passion in me to serve students and to always think of how I can be a tool for success as my mentors were before me.
As someone who has worked at multiple CSU campuses, I have always enjoyed working in the Cal State system. At each campus I have been very fortunate to work with folks who cared for one another and were compassionate about how they serve students. But CSUSB just feels like home to me. I have deep roots here and I know many employees here do too. I can’t say I have seen a single employee who only comes to CSUSB for the paycheck. It’s a love for the students, for the campus community. I also enjoy having Fridays off during the 4/10s.
If you are interested in having a positive impact on students and being surrounded by caring folks who are invested in your success, Choose CSUSB. But more importantly, under an administration that intends to disrupt education and support for students, our students now more than ever needs good people who will stand by them and support them every step of the way."
