
Dr. Amanda Wilcox-Herzog is the Chair of the Child Development Department at California State University San Bernardino (CSUSB) focusing on child development and early education. She is the founder and faculty supervisor of the CSUSB Infant/Toddler Lab School and Director of Assessment for Quality Start San Bernardino (QSSB) a multi-agency project designed to assess and increase child care quality in San Bernardino County. The endeavors fit well with Dr. Wilcox-Herzog’s research interests which focus on elevating child care quality through teacher training and education. Dr. Wilcox-Herzog teaches courses in play, early development, guidance and interactions, curriculum, and best practice in early education.
Dr. Wilcox-Herzog has two children, ages 21 and 16. Her daughter is studying child development and plans to become an early education teacher (just like mom!). Her son keeps her very busy with soccer, school musicals and choir concerts, and learning how to drive. Dr. Wilcox-Herzog enjoys reading, Netflix, and traveling with family and friends.
